Read this document to see God's plan for giving; it's not tithing, which, as practiced today, is a guilt relieving way for you to spend God's 90% your way. Mull over this quote from Mother Teresa: We don't accept even one rupee for the work we do, as we do our work for Jesus. He looks after us. If He wants something done, He gives us the means. If He doesn't provide us with the means, then He doesn't want that work done.

We would be happy to custom design a seminar or present our standard seminars to your group. Check out this pre-marital and newly weds seminar outline

Who We Are

Managing God's Money is a private Christ-centered organization dedicated to teaching biblical stewardship of God's money, time, talents, and everything available to us. We do this by God's grace through sessions with individuals and couples, and through print and other media.

God's sovereignty and ownership of everything is the foundation of our message. According to His mandate to us, we charge no fees for our services, seek no funds, represent no financial companies, sell no financial products. We give time, talents, and money as God shows us, and we get His joy, mercy, grace, and peace, as we give and as we go. Pray we get His PhD too: His peace and humility, and we learn to depend on Him to do as He promised.

Since 2000, regularly we offered Managing God's Money seminars and workshops in Canada and internationally. And from 2001 to 2006, we partnered with Focus on the Family Canada to present Managing God's Money and Managing God's Time seminars in Canada. With the release of the 7 Branches of Managing God's Money Seminar DVD, CD and the compatible Managing God's Money 7 Branches Workbook, we eliminated regularly scheduled seminar presentations, instead, we present seminars on request only. We continue to encourage small group Bible studies with our Managing Gods Money DVD and companion Workbook.

Weekly during 2005, founder and president, Michel A. Bell presented "Money Matters", on 100 Huntley Street. To read these presentations click here

The GAS Principle

The GAS Principle, three key truths from the Bible, is the foundation for everything we do at Managing God's Money.
God owns everything (Psalm 24:1-2, Colossians 1:16)
Accept what you have (Hebrews 13:5, 1 Timothy 6:7-8)
Seek first His Kingdom,
and submit your requests to Him

(Matthew 6:33, Proverbs 19:21)
The GAS Principle's implications are significant: We own nothing but are mere managers of everything God entrusts to us! Our attitude, therefore, should be to manage these possessions to glorify Him and to further His Kingdom. Specifically, we should focus on funding the Great Commission of obeying Jesus' teachings and making disciples (Matthew 28:18-20). Note the attitude of the Macedonians in 2 Corinthians 8:1-9 who, "... out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity ... gave themselves first to the Lord, then to us in keeping with God's will...."

The GAS Principle highlights the need to practice keeping rather than tithing. Keeping, is a way of life that starts with a personal relationship with Jesus. You continue by accepting His ownership of 100% of everything. In practice you behave as if all funds you receive go direct to God's bank account. As His manager, you pray continually to maximize funds from this account to fund His Work; in other words you maximize what He keeps in His Kingdom. This lifestyle includes staying close to Jesus and His Word to learn where He wants time, talent, and money invested to further His Kingdom.

On the other hand, tithing is a guilt relieving way to spend God's 90% your way: you assume ownership of God's money and spend it your way, rather than behaving like God's steward, looking after 100% of His funds, His way.Top

Managing God's Time

So many folks say they don't have "enough time." Rushing about always, they forget each person has exactly 24 hours daily. Nobody can change this! So, daily each of us must work to control the daily control variable: us, our behaviour-how we choose what to do daily. We must learn to live "unbalanced lives with right priorities"! This is a key part of our Managing God's Time: Personal Effectiveness Improvement seminar that's based on Michel's book of the same name. This seminar teaches how to be the best you can be for God's glory; how to encourage others to be the best they can be for God's glory. It stresses how to do more with what you have; and how to be on time, stay on top of paperwork, and to stop majoring on minors among other topics. Top

An Invitation

At Managing God's Money, we stress Jesus' teachings in Matthew 6:33 and 34: "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." The challenge we face daily is to stay focused on seeking first His Kingdom and righteousness. Reflect on these three questions: If you answer "no" to any of these questions, please read the Special Invitation and this FACT SHEET. If you wish to become a good steward, you might consider entering this Agreement. We pray you will reflect and respond suitably. Top
